On release in 1984, the Air Ship was Nike's most advanced basketball sneaker. Created as a better-performing evolution of the Air Force 1, the Air Ship featured a lower-profile midsole with pillar cushioning and a revised Air bag in the heel. The outsole featured flex grooves for better articulation and the uppers were lighter and more flexible.
Finished in a contemporary colours and looking a whole lot more fashionable than any original pair of Air Ships likely would have, it's great to see this highly influential model getting its time in the sun.
